Music

As you may have seen, my newly released (and first) EP, Island, is available to listen to in the sidebar of this blog, and to download from bandcamp at thomasstarkie.bandcamp.com :)

The three tracks are inspired by electronic styles and traditional tunes. I aimed to capture a sense of "oldness" in the music, and yet have an electronic and modern feel too.

Highland
The first track, Highland, is based around traditional Scottish music, and the fast tempo and three intertwining melodies give it a dance-like feel.

Travel
Travel is the second track, and, while not based directly on any existing music, aims to evoke a sense of adventure and optimism.

Southerly
This, the final track, is based around traditional English music. It is much calmer than the other two tracks, and aims to capture a musical image of rural North-Eastern England - picture a long, sweeping shoreline with green English hills in the background :)
